ProteusUsability Testing a Healthcare Mobile App

A research project to quickly gather and assess the strengths of a new UI concept for the patient-facing Proteus tablet app.

User Research
Challenge As part of the Design Research team at Proteus, I was tasked with conducting a quick-turnaround usability test to inform designs of v1.0 of the primary Proteus mobile app.

This app shows patients when and how often they have taken medicines that contain the Proteus' ingestible, trackable sensors.

The UX team was especially concerned about how to display medication schedules in a meaningful but glanceable way.

Project was completed in just 2 weeks.

I recruited our test users, wrote the interview script and conducted the interviews, and also wrote and analyzed the survey of internal employees.

My summary of learnings included recommendations for content hierarchy, proposed path of information discovery, and targeted changes for the UI.
